    Waiter waiving at me

I took a picture of a restaurant near the Duomo in Milan and a waiter started making waving and making faces at me. He then told me that the picture was going to cost me 40 euros. I negotiated him down to 0.

    Switching to Wordpress

    Friday, August 3rd, 2007

That’s it, I got tired of Joomla. I’ve been using it for quite a while and it takes SOOOOO much effort to get it to work like a normal site. I’ve had to install plugins to get the menu working right, to have search engine friendly links, for comments, etc. This frustration comes as I just got really good at working with it. It’s good for a company website, but it’s just not suitable for blogging.

I was feeling a little down about having to do research on blogging tools and having to change the way I work. The decision came down to either Wordpress or Movable Type, but then I found out that MT uses Perl (!). What decided it for me was this page: http://www.ndesign-studio.com/blog/wordpress/best-wordpress-sites. I’m definitely switching to Wordpress.

Update: Interesting… Anil Dash from the Movable Type team responded to this post. Click on the comments link.

    Riomaggiore
Stairs were a recurring theme in Italy. The Duomo in Florence? Stairs. Pisa? Stairs. Hotel Rooms? Stairs. Well, here are more f***ing stairs :) . This is the town of Riomaggiore in Cinque Terre.
